 CAMP CASEY DETROIT CLOSED DOWN ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON, SEPT. 11, 2005. IT WAS DAY 21 OF OUR MAINTAINING A 24/7 PEACE ENCAMPMENT IN GRAND CIRCUS PARK, DETROIT! OUR GRATITUDE TO ALL WHO SUPPORTED US WITH THEIR PRESENCE, DONATIONS & ACTS OF SOLIDARITY. THIS BLOG WILL CONTINUE TO OFFER AN ONLINE COMMUNITY FORUM FOR DETROIT AREA PEACE ACTIVISTS. --SEPT. 9-11, A WEEKEND WITH OUR CAMP CASEY (CRAWFORD, TEXAS) SISTERS & BROTHERS. A bus from the Crawford, Texas Camp Casey will be rolling into Detroit on Friday and will be staying until Sunday afternoon. Details for activities are still being worked out. The bus will have families of GI's killed in Iraq, veterans and other military families who camped outside Bush's ranch with Cindy Sheehan throughout August. 1. FRIDAY, SEPT. 9, 6 PM Join us for a potluck picnic supper--please bring a dish to share--as we await the arrival at Camp Casey Detroit of the busload of Military Families For Peace, Gold Star Families and Veterans For Peace from Camp Casey Crawford. Let us welcome them with love and gratitude for their courage and dedication to Bringing the Troops Home Now! 2. SATURDAY, SEPT. 10, noon-1 PM The Detroit Area Women In Black will hold their monthly silent vigil at Camp Casey Detroit. Our Camp Casey Crawford sisters and brothers plan to join us for this vigil. 3. SATURDAY, SEPT 10, 3 PM A coalition of all Detroit Area peace organizations are holding a massive rally to honor our Camp Casey Crawford guests. Weather permitting, it will be at Camp Casey Detroit. Otherwise, it will be inside Central United Methodist Church. 4.
